Why clinics hide their prices
The standard reason given is that treatment is individual, which is true, and the standard reason unspoken is that a phone call converts better than a number on a page. We would rather lose the enquiries that were never going to fit than run an hour of someone's day before telling them the cost.
The individuality argument is also easy to solve honestly: publish the price of the treatment, and use the consultation to decide which treatment you actually need. That is exactly how this works.
What you are paying for at $225 versus $170
A $170 clinical facial is a compounded, results-focused treatment for skin that is fundamentally healthy and wants to be better. A $225 medical protocol is for a diagnosed or diagnosable condition, where the formulation is doing therapeutic work against rosacea, eczema, dermatitis, or psoriasis and the assessment behind it is considerably deeper.
Cystic acne sits at $325 because it is the most involved protocol we run: clinical extraction, inflammation control, and compounded actives that need close adjustment between visits. It is also the one where the gap between a generic facial and a real protocol is widest.
Where the value actually is
In series pricing, and only when the treatment is genuinely cumulative. Five clinical facials at $700 saves $150 because skin responds to a four to six week cadence. Five drainage sessions at $900 is the price of four because tissue change requires repetition. Both exist because the protocol needs the repeats, not to lock you in.
We do not sell a package before the first assessment, and we do not price single sessions punitively to force a package. If one visit is what you want, that is a legitimate way to buy.
What is not on the price list
Injectables, lasers, and fat-freezing devices. We are a compounding-led clinical practice, not a device room, so if what you need is neurotoxin or a laser we will say so and point you elsewhere rather than sell you the nearest thing we happen to offer.
There is also no insurance billing. We are private pay, prices are flat rate and shown up front, and nothing gets added at checkout.

Every question below is one we've heard from patients who almost didn't book. Here are the honest answers.
How much does a med spa treatment cost in Grand Rapids?+
At Keystone, clinical facials start at $170, medical skin protocols run $225 to $325, and metabolic lymphatic drainage runs $200 to $335 depending on the area. Your first consultation is complimentary.
Book a ServiceIs the consultation really free?+
Yes. It is a full clinical consultation with photo documentation, and you leave with a written protocol whether or not you book treatment. There is no obligation and no deposit.
Book a ServiceDo you take insurance for skin conditions?+
No, we are a private-pay clinical practice. Pricing is flat rate and published, so there are no claims, no surprise balances, and nothing added after the fact.
Book a ServiceDo I have to buy a package?+
Never. Single sessions are always available and priced fairly. Packages exist for treatments where results are cumulative, and we do not offer one until after your first assessment.
Book a ServiceWhy are you more expensive than a standard facial?+
Because the formulations are compounded for your skin rather than picked off a shelf, and because the assessment behind each protocol is clinical. If a standard facial is what your skin needs, we will tell you that too.
Book a ServiceWill this actually work if nothing else has?+
Honestly, that's the patient we see most. The reason over-the-counter products and one-size-fits-all prescriptions usually fail isn't you, it's the formulation. We're clinical skin experts, which means your protocol is built specifically for your skin's chemistry, barrier state, and trigger pattern. If after a full consultation we don't believe we can move the needle for you, we'll tell you that, and refer you somewhere that can.
Book a ServiceWhat if I can't afford it?+
We get it. Your first consultation is complimentary, so you can get a full clinical plan before you spend anything. Series packages reduce per-session pricing significantly, and we'll always show you the lowest-cost path that still gets results, even if that means starting with a single targeted product instead of a full protocol. No upsells, no surprise charges.
Book a ServiceHow is this different from a dermatologist or med spa?+
Dermatologists prescribe from a fixed formulary, same molecules, same strengths, for every patient. Med spas are run by aestheticians without prescribing rights. We sit in the middle: clinical, clinical-grade, and able to compound a formulation specifically for you. It's the level of customization neither model can offer on its own.
Book a ServiceWhat if I book and it's not the right fit?+
Your consultation is a clinical conversation, not a commitment. You leave with a written plan whether or not you book treatment. If we don't believe we're the right partner for your concern, we'll say so and point you toward someone who is. No pressure, no high-touch follow-up.
Book a ServiceHow long until I actually see something change?+
Most patients see measurable improvement within 4 to 6 weeks. Deeper structural changes (texture, tone, barrier resilience) typically appear over a 3-month series. We track progress with photos at every visit so you're not guessing, you can see exactly what's shifting and why.
Book a ServiceWhy should I trust a board-certified skin expert over a doctor's office?+
Clinical skin experts are the people doctors call when a stock prescription isn't working. We've spent years building the formulations a dermatology office hands you a sample of. Pairing that lab-side expertise with a clinical spa means your protocol and your treatment come from the same team, no broken handoff between prescriber and provider.
